Anyway, while at the range, I was able to take in the changing colors of the leaves and some pretty unsettled rainy weather. The oaks were turning orange, and the maples were starting to redden along the hillsides. Mostly there was green in the Wasatch, but some signs of fall were approaching.
I also got to stand out in some serious rain and take in a bit of lightning and thunder while on the shooting range. I was there today for a serious purpose, but took the time to notice a few Elderberry tree's sagging with fruit, wishing I would have had the liberty to picks a few gallons so I could make some Elderberry Jam and syrup. I got to feel the cold rain falling in huge drops onto my visor clad head and listen to the thunder echoing in the canyons. I breathed in the clean cool air and enjoyed the views of the steep canyon walls in between sessions, and began to think of what the next hike I should do will be.
Anyway, the point is, when some wild presents itself, even at work or while busy, just take a minute or two and absorb some of it. Integrate it into your soul, breath it in and be rewarded with a little taste of what our world has to offer.
